Albert Park race organisers have announced that 2026 Australian Grand Prix tickets will go on sale on September 10. Here’s all you need to know about how to secure your tickets.

Attracting a 4-day crowd of over 460,000 fans, the Australian Grand Prix is one of the best-attended weekends on the Formula 1 calendar. Demand for tickets for the Melbourne race is always high and is likely to be even more so for 2026, with the potential for Australia to have its first World Champion in the event’s 40-year history on the schedule.

The 2026 Australian Grand Prix is set to take place on March 5-8, as the opening round of the 2026 Formula 1 season. Last year, the start of ticket sales for the Australian Grand Prix via Ticketmaster was delayed by 24 hours due to a “global third-party outage”. When eventually available, the majority of tickets sold out within an hour.

When Do 2026 Australian Grand Prix Tickets Go On Sale?

Tickets for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix will be available to the general public from 12:00pm AEST on Wednesday, September 10.

One week prior to the general on-sale date, there will be a pre-sale for American Express card holders, with an Amex pre-sale taking place from 12:00pm AEST on Wednesday September 3. General admission tickets, grandstand seats and selected hospitality packages will be available to purchase in this pre-sale, which runs until Friday, September 5.

In a change to previous years, the Australian Grand Prix’s “Access” program, which rewarded repeat ticket buyers, has been discontinued. The subscription service previously granted fans paid-for benefits, like early access to reserved tickets and exclusive access to pit lane walks.

Dynamic Pricing Shelved for 2026 – But Prices Increase

This year, the controversial dynamic pricing model – which incrementally increased ticket prices based on the level of demand – has been scrapped.

On the surface, this appears to be good news. However, 4-day ticket prices for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix have increased by up to 25% compared to the starting prices in 2025. The largest increases can be found in the Fangio and Prost grandstands, where ticket prices have increased by $200 AUD – up to $825 – compared to their 2025 starting prices.

Park Passes (general admission access) remain the cheapest option for tickets to the Australian Grand Prix in 2026, with single-day prices beginning at $45 AUD. A 4-day Park Pass costs $385 AUD in 2026.

Expanded Capacity with New Piastri Grandstand

For the first time, Oscar Piastri will have his own grandstand at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix. If the 2025 title fight ends in his favour, his return home for the season-opening race in March next year could be his first appearance as the reigning World Champion.

Piastri is the latest Australian name – after Jack Brabham, Alan Jones, Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo – to be honoured with a grandstand in his name at the Melbourne circuit. The grandstand is located on Albert Park’s main straight, opposite the pit lane.

The Piastri grandstand will sit where the Fangio grandstand is currently located – but the current structure will be expanded and split into two, so that the Fangio and Piastri stands co-exits. The Piastri Grandstand will be home to the circuit’s most sought-after seats, closest to the start line. 4-day seats in the Piastri Grandstand are priced at $1045 AUD.

With higher grandstand capacity on the main straight for 2026, next year’s attendance figure is likely to surpass the record 4-day Melbourne attendance of 465,000 seen at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix.
