The next edition of Paige Buckers vs. Caitlin Clark will have to wait, but a big crowd will be on hand Friday in Dallas as the Wings host the Fever.Â
Clark will miss a sixth consecutive game due to a right groin injury, but Indiana has found its groove even without the 2024 No. 1 overall pick. The Fever (15-12) have won three in a row, most recently posting a season-high point total in Wednesday’s 107-101 win over the Mercury.Â
The Wings, on the other hand, are not close to playoff contention. They’re toward the bottom of the standings at 8-20 and are still developing with 2025 top pick Bueckers at the helm. The former UConn guard made the All-Star Game as a rookie and is piecing together and excellent campaign to kick off her professional career.
This will be the third Fever vs. Wings game this season with Indiana winning the previous two. Clark has only played in one of those matchups as she’s been battling injuries all season.
