Aneesah Morrow’s decorated college basketball career came to a close two weeks ago when LSU women’s basketball was eliminated by UCLA in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
The 72-65 loss to the Bruins closed the college portion of Morrow’s story and now she gears up for the next chapter in the WNBA. The WNBA Draft is set for Monday night in New York City.

Morrow starred for the Tigers the last two seasons after transferring in from DePaul prior to the 2023-24 season. She helped make up the “Big 3” for Kim Mulkey this season with fellow stars Flau’jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams, a trio that helped guide LSU back to its third straight Elite Eight appearance.

LSU women’s basketball star Aneesah Morrow WNBA Draft projections
Most common projected landing spot for Morrow is the Connecticut Sun in the first round at No. 7. DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas have both moved on and the organization brought in Tina Charles from the Atlanta Dream but there’s need for forwards.
The highest anyone has Morrow coming off the board is top five at No. 5 for the Golden State Valkyries, the WNBA’s newest franchise. Bleacher Report sees Morrow landing in California, mentioning her rise in draft stock from her performance in the NCAA Tournament.

“You know what you will get out of Morrow night-in and night-out with the effort and heart she brings,” Bleacher Report said. “She is relentless on the glass and in the paint, making her an anomaly in this class.”
What 2025 WNBA Draft mock drafts say about LSU star Aneesah Morrow
Looking a number of mock drafts that have been released within the last week-plus, all have Morrow being picked inside the top 10 selections of the WNBA Draft this season.
The consensus on that is encouraging as the case of Morrow in the league is hard to predict. She’s undersized at her position at 6-foot and how she exclusively played in college won’t be how she’ll need to play to be fully effective in the W.

“Trying to project where Morrow will be drafted may be the only thing more difficult than trying to project how she’ll fare on a WNBA court,” CBS Sports said in its analysis of Morrow.
