The recent Wrestlemania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary was a brilliant watch, showcasing how the world’s biggest professional wrestling company was able to put their initial plans to one side and pivot to give the people what they wanted. That of course was witnessing Cody Rhodes finishing his story and ending Roman Reigns’ epic 1,316 championship reign and climbing to the top of the mountain. However, that moment is now in the history books, and as ever, attention immediately turns to what’s next.
Cody Rhodes vs The Rock vs Roman Reigns
The reigning WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has feuded with the Bloodline for the last two WrestleMania’s and as he heads towards SummerSlam, he is locked in a feud with them once more. However, now, it is a new-looking faction led by the former enforcer Solo Sikoa. The latest odds from online betting UK sites make him and teammates Randy Orton and Kevin Owens a +225 underdog for their impending clash with the Bloodline at the Money in the Bank event, a clash which could have huge implications for the rest of the year.
At the most recent WrestleMania, Paddy Power’s sports betting tips predicted Rhodes would emerge victorious, making him a -333 favorite for in the main event, and he duly obliged, beating Reigns at the second time of asking. That has seemingly shifted power within the fact away from the Tribal Chief, with Sikoa currently the interim Head of the Table with The Rock seemingly waiting in the wings. And if the rumors are to be believed, both Reigns and The Rock will have the chance to take the WWE Championship away from the American Nightmare in a triple-threat match.
Many thought that Rhodes’ story with the Bloodline was over, but The Rock stated on the Raw after WrestleMania that his story with the Final Boss was just getting started. Could that imply that they will go head-to-head on the Grandest Stage of Them All? And how does Reigns fit into these plans?

Roman Reigns vs The Rock
Although the rumors don’t indicate as such, the obvious main event at WrestleMania 41 is surely Roman Reigns vs The Rock. The pair was due to face off at the most recent ‘Mania, however, the swell of support for Royal Rumble winner Rhodes was simply too much for the WWE to ignore. As such, the company – as well as The Rock and Reigns themselves – duly bent over backward to ensure that Rhodes could finish his story. Will he now have to return the favor at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next April?
It could be argued that a match between two icons doesn’t need to have the championship on the line, allowing Rhodes to remain champion but not feature in the main event. John Cena headlined WrestleMania 28 against The Rock in a non-title matchup, and Reigns and The Rock may well do the same next year. Where this leaves the American Nightmare however is anyone’s guess.
