Tempe, AZ – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is pleased to announce today the addition of Whitney Wofford to the ITA staff where she will serve as the Senior Director of External Engagement.
Serving as the governing body and coaches association of college tennis, Wofford will strengthen current partnerships and identify new opportunities for the organization. Her efforts will help ensure coaches at all levels feel empowered to create vibrant tennis programs on their campuses and that the student-athlete experience can continue to be elevated at all ITA events.
“As I step into my new role as ITA President & CEO, I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey alongside someone of Whitney’s exceptional character, creativity, and work ethic,” stated ITA CEO David Mullins. “Whitney’s experience and dynamic approach to leadership make her the perfect fit for this pivotal moment in college athletics. Her vision and expertise will be invaluable as we navigate this time of change and position the ITA for a successful future.”
As a former college tennis player at the University of Tennessee and the University of Oklahoma, Wofford brings a combination of college tennis experience and high-level management skills. Her latest stop was Plotr, where she served as the Chief Operating Officer and drove all day-to-day operations across all departments.
Before Plotr, Wofford spent time at CrowdHealth and the velofix Group of Companies serving as the Director of Marketing at both companies. During this time, Wofford oversaw seven-figure annual marketing budgets and helped launch many new marketing initiatives that were very successful for both companies.
Starting her professional career at Nike after graduating from Oklahoma, Wofford has worked with some of the biggest brands in the global market including, but not limited to, Southwest Airlines, Hewlett Packard, Red Bull, Pizza Hut, and the PGA Tour.

I have been inspired by the many people and successes the ITA has built in recent years and look forward to building on that momentum into the future. I’m excited to serve on this team and join the mission of advancing the sport of tennis.”
