Who could the Dallas Wings draft No. 1 overall in 2026?

The Dallas Wings won the WNBA draft lottery for the second year in a row on Sunday, securing the top pick in the 2026 draft.

It was a huge momentum moment for the Wings, which went 10-34 in 2025 and 9-31 the previous season. Dallas, which drafted Paige Bueckers No. 1 overall in 2025, now has a big decision ahead with no consensus top pick.

“It’s fair to say we received very few phone calls about the No. 1 pick last year. The last couple years have been consensus and probably pretty obvious teams weren’t going to trade their No.1 pick,” Wings GM Curt Miller said right after the lottery. “I’ve received more pre-phone calls before people even knew where we would be drafting about this year’s draft than I did all of last year.”

Many fans hope the Wings select UConn guard Azzi Fudd, who was the projected No. 4 pick ahead of Sunday’s lottery. But after the Wings secured the top pick, Fudd moved up to No. 1 in ESPN’s mock draft.

Fudd and Bueckers, who won a championship together at UConn last season, are in a relationship. In wins over Michigan on Friday and Utah on Sunday, Fudd combined for 55 points on 58.1% shooting. She is averaging 21 points per game on 51.1 % shooting and 54.8% from three.

Spain’s Awa Fam, a 6-4 center, is the projected No. 2 pick. The 19-year-old was the projected No. 1 pick in the pre-lottery mock draft.

TCU guard Olivia Miles is projected at No. 3 and UCLA center Lauren Betts is the projected fourth pick. LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson rounds out the top 5.

Miller, who recently hired new coach Jose Fernandez, repeatedly noted the number of options in the upcoming draft and said he’s already been scouting aggressively.

“We’re constantly at college games or watching college games even when we’re not there in person,” Miller said. “The evaluation of this draft class is ongoing. Jose and I constantly talk about what that could potentially mean for us as we enter the ‘26 season.”
