Caitlin Clark shared her feelings about being selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA draft, admitting she was initially upset.
In a recent episode of the Fresh Talk podcast, Clark, along with her former Iowa Hawkeyes teammates Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall, discussed her disappointment after being picked by the Indiana Fever and not being able to witness the draft unfold.
The rookie of the year explained that she felt upset as she was immediately taken away after the draft, preventing her from seeing her friend Kate get drafted as well.
Following her selection, Clark’s schedule was hectic, as she didn’t even have the chance to take pictures with her loved ones at the event.
Reports suggest that Clark has been offered a lucrative deal to join the Unrivaled 3×3 league, potentially earning a $1 million salary.

This opportunity would significantly increase Clark’s salary compared to what she would earn in the WNBA.
The WNBA is open to giving Clark time to consider the offer, as they have expanded their roster to accommodate more players.
Currently in her first offseason, Clark had an outstanding rookie season in the WNBA, earning recognition as the league’s rookie of the year.
