Steve Kerr, coach of the Warriors, has been instrumental in transforming the franchise into one of the NBA’s top teams. With this experience, he predicts a bright future for another Golden State team – the Valkyries, an expansion team joining the WNBA in 2025.
During a press conference, Kerr praised newly hired Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase and expressed his belief that the Valkyries will soon become a leading franchise in the WNBA. Despite the team still being in the early stages of development and not having any players yet, Kerr commended the work of Nakase and Valkyries general manager Ohemaa Nyanin.
Nakase, in turn, expressed her excitement at the opportunity to learn from Kerr and spoke about her aspirations of winning a WNBA championship within five years. With Kerr’s guidance and the Valkyries’ strong foundation, this goal may be within reach.
