Caithness WFC, Buckie Ladies, Brora Rangers, and Shetland Girls have each received £1,000 in funding from ScottishPower to support women and girls football clubs.
Launched specifically for clubs in the Highlands & Islands, this funding competition is part of ScottishPower’s partnership with SWF to energize women’s football across the country.
Four prizes of £1,000 were awarded to clubs with plans to create more opportunities for women and girls in the region.
Caithness will improve facilities with a VEO camera setup, Buckie Ladies will upgrade their toilet facilities, Brora Rangers will purchase equipment for their youth team, and Shetland Girls will address travel challenges.
ScottishPower is working with SWF to support women’s football and drive equality from grassroots to elite levels.
Aileen Campbell, CEO of Scottish Women’s Football, congratulated the winners and highlighted the challenges faced by clubs in the region.
Julie Keough, Brand Director at ScottishPower, commended the winners for their unique plans and emphasized the importance of supporting women’s football at all levels.
