INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — $1 million in grants is being awarded to help Hoosier youth through community organizations.
The grants are part of the WNBA All-Star 2025 Host Committee’s “tipping-off projects” – designed to lift up and empower youth and their families in the throughout Indianapolis.
The committee says they selected organizations that identified critical needs and developed brick-and-mortar projects aimed at helping Hoosiers.
Grant awardees
Fletcher Place Community Center | Improvements include updating kitchen storage and equipment, upgrading the REACH Early Learning playground and toddler play space, adding a greenhouse, and enhancing the community garden and basement storage.
Marion County Commission on Youth | Will renovate its facility to align with ADA standards, improve safety and expand community training capacity. Will lead the WNBA All-Star 2025 Student Ambassador program, where 25 Indiana female high school students will get leadership opportunities that support mental health.
Marvella Foundation | Will build a campus “Championship Area” and host community events, scholarships, and camps hosted by athletes like Tamika Catchings.
The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis | Grant to renovate the basketball court at Al E. Polin Park to be more accessible and to add backboards, benches, bleachers, and other playability improvements.
