Earlier today, the WNBA and the WNBPA players’ union reached a verbal deal on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. This comes after over consecutive days of long discussions, often in the overnight hours since Mar. 10.
Here are some of the X posts from Annie Costabile of Front Office Sports and Alexa Philippou of ESPN.
The deal is expected to take weeks to be officially ratified — but it’s likely a done deal. But the good news is that training camp will still start on April 19, preseason games will start on April 25. The regular season will start on May 8.
We don’t know all of the details yet. But there will be a new revenue sharing agreement, $1 million+ annual salaries for some players and much more. We’ll analyze that when these things become official.
