WNBA Best Bets
New York Liberty at Las Vegas Aces
Liberty +3.5 (-112) Sabrina Ionescu Over 17.5 Points (-122)
I’m not entirely convinced that the Las Vegas Aces will easily secure a second consecutive home victory on Sunday.
The New York Liberty struggled in Game 3 due to Sabrina Ionescu’s poor performance. She only scored 4 points after averaging 24.5 points in her first four playoff games. It will be challenging for the Liberty to compete at this stage of the postseason with that kind of output.
However, the Liberty’s strong three-point shooting continued, shooting over 40.0% from behind the arc for the third straight game. They also outrebounded the Aces, 35-34, in their last matchup.
This game is crucial for Ionescu and the Liberty as they look to potentially secure the series before a decisive Game 5. According to DRatings, the Game 4 spread is just 1.9 points, and Rotowire projects Ionescu to bounce back with 19.2 points in 38.0 minutes.
Minnesota Lynx at Connecticut Sun
Marina Mabrey Over 2.5 Threes (-146)
If Marina Mabrey can’t improve her three-point shooting quickly, it could spell trouble for the Connecticut Sun’s season.
Mabrey has been a key player for the Sun since being acquired in July, leading the team in usage rate during the playoffs. However, she has struggled from deep in the last two games, shooting just 3-for-19 (15.8%) from beyond the arc.
Given Mabrey’s high volume of three-point attempts, the implied odds of her hitting three triples on Sunday are much higher than 59.3%. Rotowire projects her to make 2.91 threes per game on a 36-minute basis, and she has been playing close to that amount of minutes in the playoffs.
