The Minnesota Lynx were so close to tasting the champagne last season, with a WNBA championship right there for the taking.
But a hard-fought series with the New York Liberty ended in heartbreak, as the Lynx lost 3-2. But that run, plus a loaded roster directed by coach Cheryl Reeve, has Minnesota in position to compete for the title.

At least that’s what the odds say.
The Lynx are currently one of the early favorites to finish as the best team in the WNBA. According to DraftKings Sportsbook via Fox Sports, Minnesota checks in at +380 to win it all in 2025.
The only squads with better odds are the defending champion Liberty (+230), and the Caitlin Clark-led Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces (both +350). No one team is below +1800.
New York bested the Lynx in the WNBA Finals, with Game 5 going to overtime. That bittersweet ending to an otherwise outstanding season left Minnesota hungry for more this time around.
The Lynx look up to the challenge, returning their entire starting five, including WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier. She led the team averaging 20.4 points and 9.7 rebounds. Kayla McBride, Bridget Carleton, Alanna Smith and Courtney Williams are also back. That fivesome started 29 of the 40 regular-season games, plus every game of the playoffs.

Dorka Juhász, Diamond Miller, Natisha Hiedeman, Alissa Pili, Grace Berger and Karlie Samuelson offer significant depth off the bench.
Reeve holds it all together with consistency not often seen at the professional level. The 2024 WNBA Coach of the Year enters her 16th year with nine 20-win seasons and 13 playoff appearances.
Minnesota’s regular season home opener is May 21 against the Dallas Wings.
