The Chicago Sky have officially filled their head coaching vacancy.
Tyler Marsh has been selected as the new head coach for the franchise, according to Marsh’s agent, Klutch Sports’ Andy Miller, as reported by ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, Andraya Carter, and Bobby Marks on Saturday. The Athletic and Chicago Sun-Times have also verified the hiring, although the team has not made an official announcement yet.
Previously, Marsh served as an assistant coach for the Las Vegas Aces for the past three seasons, focusing on player development for the WNBA champions in 2022 and 2023. Marsh is specifically known for playing a key role in Jackie Young’s progress. He is the second coach to be hired from Vegas head coach Becky Hammon’s staff this offseason, following Natalie Nakase going to the Golden State Valkyries.
Marsh is anticipated to lead a successful Sky team around the duo of Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso. The addition of a lottery pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft gives Chicago the chance to strengthen their young core further. Reese has already shown support for the coaching decision with a post on X/Twitter.
