WNBA Contender Announces Major News on 2-Time Champion originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Atlanta Dream are riding a four-game winning streak and are looking to continue their strong play against the Connecticut Sun on Friday. They haven’t played in a week, and their latest win was in Seattle against the Storm, where they stormed back in the second half to get the win.

Allisha Gray was hot in the month of May, as she won WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week and Eastern Conference Player of the Month for her strong play. She’s been excellent on both sides of the ball for the Dream and has been a big reason why they’re on a winning streak.

The Dream are also starting to get healthy as the Commissioner Cup starts this week. Brittney Griner returned against the Storm after missing a few games, and now they’ll be getting back their starting point guard, Jordin Canada.

Canada hasn’t played in the regular season yet after suffering a right knee injury minutes into the Dream’s first preseason game. After their game against the Storm, Canada teased that she would make her return soon.

“It’s go time,” Canada wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Though the Dream have found a rhythm in the past few games, Canada has been the piece that they’re missing at the guard position, and she can help provide stability on offense. For the time being, Rhyne Howard was taking care of most of the ball-handling duties, which could have been the reason for her early struggles.

The Dream will now welcome back a player who has won on the biggest stage twice in her career.
