The Atlanta Dream made the decision to part ways with head coach Tanisha Wright.
On Wednesday afternoon, Atlanta general manager and executive vice president Dan Padover announced the departure of Tanisha Wright as head coach. Padover released the following statement:
The Atlanta Dream have decided to part ways with head coach Tanisha Wright. We appreciate her contributions to the team and wish her the best in the future. We believe a change is necessary to lead our players and organization to the next phase of success in the WNBA.
Despite being named Coach of the Year in 2022, Wright leaves with a 48-68 record and led the Dream to two consecutive playoff appearances.
On social media, Wright expressed gratitude for her time with the team, stating:
It has been an incredible experience coaching for 3 years. I want to thank every player I’ve coached for their hard work and dedication. Change is necessary for growth, and I look forward to the next chapter of my journey.

The Dream are now in search of a new head coach, joining other teams like the Los Angeles Sparks, Chicago Sky, and the expansion Golden State Valkyries.
