The Minnesota Lynx are running away with the top spot in the WNBA standings, but everything else is up for grabs. With five games scheduled for Sunday, many contests will have playoff implications.

The action will begin with the Connecticut Sun hosting the New York Liberty at 1 p.m. ET (League Pass). There are two games that will begin at 3 p.m. ET, with the Atlanta Dream taking on the Washington Mystics (ESPN3) and the Seattle Storm playing the Indiana Fever (ABC). At 6 p.m. ET, the final two games will take place with the Las Vegas Aces competing against the Golden State Valkyries (League Pass) and the Chicago Sky facing the Phoenix Mercury (League Pass).

Will the Aces get it together?

At 14-14, the Aces haven’t been able to get over the hump this season. After a dominant win over the Los Angeles Sparks, Las Vegas had an embarrassing loss against the Lynx on Saturday, where they were absolutely annihilated in record-breaking fashion.

Kayla McBride led the way with 24 PTS, 5 REB, & 8 3PM (8-10 3P%). Jessica Shepard and Napheesa Collier also added in 18 PTS each in the win!#WelcometotheW pic.twitter.com/HAuGtsD8wG

Now they’ll play the Valkyries, a team they already have lost to twice this season, on a back-to-back. Getting a win would be huge considering Golden State is just a half game in front of Las Vegas in the standings.

There’s a lot of chatter about the struggles the Aces have had and where they need to go from here, but a win on Sunday would help quiet all that noise.

Storm-Fever is a fight for fifth place

The Storm and the Fever have identical records, and now they’ll play each other in a battle for the fifth spot in the standings.

Seattle is fresh off a grueling double-overtime loss to the Sparks, so they’ll be looking to bounce back. Meanwhile, Indiana is in top form and will be aiming to extend their four-game winning streak. With the Fever still missing Caitlin Clark, beating an essentially healthy Storm team would be a great result. We’ll see if Seattle can earn the win and jump in front of them in the standings.

Liberty revenge and rest of Sunday’s games

Remember when I said the Sun couldn’t really beat the Liberty, and then they did just that earlier this week? Yeah, me neither. In all seriousness, New York better take care of business. They shouldn’t have lost last time to Connecticut, and another defeat would be even more embarrassing.

Dream-Mystics is an intriguing contest. Washington is the gritty young team, and Atlanta was the surprise team that everyone is now well aware of. All-Star power will be present on both sides, and that usually makes for an entertaining contest.

The Mercury’s matchup with the still-injured Sky is significantly less enticing. Chicago is on a seven-game losing streak and has struggled all season long.
