WNBA, labor-management conflict continues.
“ESPN” cited sources on the 13th (Korea Standard Time) and said that WNBA labor and management have agreed to a moratorium on league business (suspension of activities).
This is an inevitable choice. Currently, WNBA labor and management are struggling to agree on a new labor-management collective agreement.
After delaying the deadline several times, the 9th was set as the deadline for the agreement, but an agreement was not reached until then.
ESPN expressed the atmosphere, saying that the two sides of labor and management still have a big difference in positions on various key issues, including the profit distribution system.
After the expiration of the existing agreement, the WNBA has entered a “state of status quo” in which the working conditions of the existing agreement are maintained.
ESPN predicted that the WNBA Secretariat has notified each club to present qualifying offers and prepare for key player designation under the expired agreement, but the moratorium will stop these early-stage activities in the FA market.
