The Minnesota Lynx continue to add to their roster ahead of the 2025 WNBA Draft and the start of the 2025 season, bringing in another player this week to boost the team’s depth.
On Friday, Minnesota claimed 25-year-old guard Grace Berger off of waivers, this move coming a week after Berger was waived by the Indiana Fever.
Berger concluded her second season in the WNBA in 2024 after being drafted seventh overall by Indiana in the 2023 WNBA Draft. Over the two-year span with the Fever, Berger came off the bench while seeing her playing time dwindle in her sophomore season compared to her rookie campaign.
As a rookie in 2023, Berger appeared in 36 of the 40 regular season games, averaging 4.2 points, 1.9 assists, 1.6 rebounds and 0.5 steals over 14.6 minutes, also tallying shooting marks of 44.9% from the field and 47.1% from three.
In her second WNBA season last summer, Berger appeared in just 11 contests, taking a bit of a step back by averaging 2.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 0.5 steals over 9.3 minutes, recording shooting marks of 40% from the field and 40% from three.
This offseason, Berger is currently playing for OGM Ormanspor in the Turkish Women’s Basketball League, having a nice season thus far while averaging 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals over 17 Turkey-KBSL contests. In Turkey, Berger is shooting 44.7% from the field and 30.6% from three.
The addition of Berger is one that is a low risk move for Cheryl Reeve and company, and it could benefit both Berger and the Lynx for the young guard to get a fresh start on a new team that could potentially give her more playing time than her previous squad.

Berger is a player that can contribute from all over the court if she is given the opportunity, something that didn’t occur in Indiana with the likes of Caitlin Clark standing in front of her. Berger can shoot the ball well, notably from deep, which will be valuable for a Minnesota squad that is searching for that from its bench.
Just how big of a role Berger plays with the Lynx is yet to be seen, but this could end up being yet another solid under-the-radar addition for Reeve and company in Minnesota.
