On Monday, teams around the league announced the return of those who were participating in the 2025 Women’s FIBA EuroBasket tournament.

With the return of these players also came the release of several players around the league.

Golden State Valkyries guard Julie Vanloo was dealt unfortunate news in her return to the team.

“Roster Update: The Golden State Valkyries have waived guard Julie Vanloo,” posted the official social media account of the Golden State Valkyries. “Thank you, Julie.”

The Belgian-born point guard — who is fresh off the 2025 EuroBasket win — soon responded to the news on social media, sharing the Valkyries’ announcement while attaching an emotional response.

“Litterally (sic) just touched down in the bay,” Vanloo said. “I need some time to process all of this man and put my feels into words. I can’t right now.”
