As WNBA teams prepare their rosters for the rest of the season, several have made significant changes to their lineups.

On Monday, teams around the league announced the return of those who were participating in the 2025 Women’s FIBA EuroBasket tournament.
With the return of these players also came the release of several players around the league.
Golden State Valkyries guard Julie Vanloo was dealt unfortunate news in her return to the team.
“Roster Update: The Golden State Valkyries have waived guard Julie Vanloo,” posted the official social media account of the Golden State Valkyries. “Thank you, Julie.”
The Belgian-born point guard — who is fresh off the 2025 EuroBasket win — soon responded to the news on social media, sharing the Valkyries’ announcement while attaching an emotional response.

“Litterally (sic) just touched down in the bay,” Vanloo said. “I need some time to process all of this man and put my feels into words. I can’t right now.”

Vanloo was playing in her second season in the WNBA and first season with the Golden State Valkyries. She was acquired by the Valkyries in the offseason before the team’s inaugural season.
During her first and only season with the Valkyries, Vanloo posted 4.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

Before playing with the Golden State Valkyries during the 2025 WNBA season, Julie Vanloo began her WNBA career with the Washington Mystics.
During her first season with the Mystics, Vanloo posted 7.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Vanloo started in 34 of 40 games during her rookie season with the Mystics.
