However, despite a formidable effort from Dallas, it was still Washington that came out on top for a hard-fought 91-88 home win in what turned out to be a thrilling affair.
Bueckers did all she could for the Wings, finishing with 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting, nine rebounds and seven assists. The former UCOnn star also knocked down one of the biggest shots of the night by draining a clutch three-pointer with 11.0 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.
In the end, however, the Mystics were able to hold their opponents off to improve to 6-8 on the season.

This victory was thanks in large part to Washington rookie Sonia Citron, who went off against Bueckers and Co. Citron dropped a career-high 27 points on 9-of-13 from the field, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block and four triples in the win.

After the game, the WNBA took to social media to announce Citron’s historic milestone in her career performance.
“With 27 PTS and 11 REB today, Sonia Citron became the first rookie in @WashMystics franchise history to tally 25+ PTS and 10+ REB in a single game!” the league posted on X.
It was Citron who came out on top of the rookie battle in this one as the 6-foot-1 guard proved that she wasn’t going to back down against Bueckers.
This resulted in the No. 3 overall pick leading Washington to its sixth win of the season. The Mystics are just 0.5 games outside the playoff picture right now and are looking to make some noise toward the midway point of the campaign.
