WNBA Sends Message to Paige Bueckers After Her Return From Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Dallas Wings are back in action on Thursday night in a home game at College Park Center against the Phoenix Mercury. They are coming off a 79-71 win against the Washington Mystics on Sunday, which Dallas secured even without the services of star rookie Paige Bueckers.

The 23-year-old returned for Thursday’s game after recovering from her minor knee injury. She wasted no time announcing her return as well by knocking down a big three in the first quarter to add to the Wings’ blistering start.
Bueckers’ triple drew the attention of the WNBA, which sent a message to the highly touted rookie upon her return to action.
“PB5 IS BACK! 🌟 Paige Bueckers drains the triple to cap a 9-0 run for the @DallasWings,” the league posted on Instagram.

Bueckers was perfect from the field in the opening quarter, scoring eight points on 3-of-3 shooting. She also dished out two assists to help the Wings mount a 32-20 lead over their opponents after the first 10 minutes of action.

The WNBA also announced on Thursday that Bueckers has been named the Rookie of the Month for June after another strong month.

The Wings turned in an impressive performance in their last game against the Mystics as they logged their first win of the season without Bueckers, who also missed four straight games earlier in the month after suffering a concussion.
There’s no denying, however, that Dallas would much prefer to have the former UConn star on the court than on the sidelines.
