If the Seattle Storm are to retake the No. 4 seed from the Las Vegas Aces, Wednesday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks, a team already eliminated from postseason contention, was a must-win.
Trailing by 10 points as halftime approached, recent returnee Gabby Williams turned the tide for Seattle, captaining an 11-2 run that allowed the Storm to tie the game at 41 all at the break. From there, Seattle was able to gain separation in the second half, holding off LA for the 90-82 win and holding onto the possibility of an improved postseason outlook.
