WNBA Star Did Not Like What Paige Bueckers Told Her After Wings’ Fourth Straight Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Paige Bueckers was unable to take the floor on Friday night as the Dallas Wings lost their fourth consecutive game. The highly touted rookie is still under the league’s concussion protocol and was forced to miss her third straight contest.

Bueckers had to watch the Wings suffer a 93-79 loss against the Los Angeles Sparks as Dallas fell to 1-8 on the season.
After the game, Bueckers shared a brief moment on the court with Sparks star Kelsey Plum, who helped lead L.A. to victory on Friday with 11 points, five rebounds, nine assists and a block in 29 minutes of action.
It isn’t clear what exactly Bueckers told Plum during their postgame exchange, but it appears that the rookie was talking some smack to the two-time WNBA champion guard.
As the WNBA said in its caption, Plum did not seem to like what Bueckers told her. The three-time All-Star made her feelings about the conversation clear as she spoke to the camera.

“I’ll remember this day,” Plum said. “Rookies talking [expletive] is crazy. Rookies are built different here…What the [expletive] is going on?”

Plum, a former WNBA All-Star Game MVP, is widely considered one of the top guards in the league today. Bueckers, on the other hand, is a pivotal part of the next generation of stars in the league.
Bueckers clearly hasn’t shown any fear of Plum, and it seems that the audacity of the 23-year-old to talk smack – especially after a loss – took the veteran by surprise.
