WNBA star Sophie Cunningham is teasing a move away from basketball.
The 29-year-old Indiana Fever guard has become one of the league’s most-followed players. Cunningham, who starred collegiately at the University of Missouri, was traded from the Phoenix Mercury to the Indiana Fever last offseason. She quickly took to Caitlin Clark and the Fever. Cunningham was known as an “enforcer” for the Fever in the backcourt, often coming to the defense of Clark, the former No. 1 overall WNBA Draft pick.

Cunningham has since blown up on social media. She started her own podcast with West from “Summer House” and several clips have been trending on social media as a result.

Cunningham recently teased a move away from basketball. Could we see Cunningham taking part in a new sport in the offseason or in retirement?
It sounds like it.
Cunningham is teasing a move into the wrestling world.
The WNBA star is a massive wrestling fan
During the most recent episode of her Show Me Something podcast with co-host West Wilson, Cunningham opened up about her love of wrestling.

Cunningham discussed John Cena’s final match and her love of the sport.
“I grew up on that (expletive) WWE baby!” Cunningham said. “Me and [my sister] Lindsey used to wrestle all the time, and our parents would have to call it. But like Kane, Hulk. Oh my God. I used to watch the Hulk all the time, the reality TV show. But John Cena was just the absolute best, man.”
Cunningham opened up about the potential move.
“They asked me to do it,” she told Wilson. “You know, maybe after I retire or off-season, maybe us two will be the new WWE duo.”

Wilson, meanwhile, was not a fan.
“I don’t know I was a very thoughtful child, and I knew it was fake,” Wilson said. “I just could never buy into it.”
Perhaps Wilson will change his mind if Cunningham ends up taking part in a match or two, though.
