The Seattle Storm made a big move on WNBA trade deadline day by re-signing French Olympic hero Gabby Williams.
Eric Nemchock analyzed the Storm’s defensive struggles yesterday. Williams, who averaged 1.5 steals per game in her 10 games with the Storm last season, will help Seattle improve their defense and add disruptiveness.
The Minnesota Lynx made a trade to acquire Myisha Hines-Allen from the Washington Mystics in exchange for Olivia Èpoupa, Sika Koné, and a second-round pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. Hines-Allen has been a productive reserve this season, averaging 8.0 points, nearly five rebounds, and almost three assists in under 20 minutes per game. She is also shooting 35.9 percent from 3-point range, a skill Minnesota will likely utilize more.
Washington waived Époupa and DiDi Richards to make room for Sug Sutton, acquired from the Phoenix Mercury for the rights to Klara Lundquist. The Mystics also received a 2025 third-round draft pick in the trade, while Phoenix opened up $82,727 in spending power. The Mercury have until the end of the regular season to make a significant move with this freed up cap space.
