It has come to light that Kai Trump, the granddaughter of US President-elect Donald Trump, is a fan of Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and the WNBA in general. Recently, Kai, who has committed to playing golf at the University of Miami, left a comment on Paige Bueckers’ Instagram post, which caught the attention of WNBA fans.
Following this, fans delved into Kai’s Instagram account, looking at the list of people she follows. Screenshots shared on X (formerly Twitter) reveal that she follows Nika Mühl, Clark, Reese, and Bueckers, along with other collegiate basketball players. Despite Reese being critical of Donald Trump and his election win, Kai Trump still follows her on Instagram.
“Oh she’s a fannnn,” commented a fan.
“Not Trump’s granddaughter commenting under P’s post,” remarked another fan.
“Wait, she follows damn near everyone on the team, I think she’s a fan,” added an X user
Fans were quick to react to the fact that the future University of Miami golfer follows so many WNBA players, sharing their thoughts on X.
“Look at her following page,” one fan said, posting a screenshot of Kai’s following list.
“If she can get her grandpa to make Angel and Paige slander illegal, she gets her 10s from me,” another fan joked.
“She’s got taste,” remarked another fan.
Although Caitlin Clark didn’t endorse a political candidate, Angel Reese has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump
While Kai Trump follows Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and various other NCAA and WNBA players on Instagram, Reese has been open about her criticisms of Kai’s grandfather, Donald Trump.
Following Trump’s victory in the recent presidential election, Reese expressed her disappointment in Americans on social media. Through a series of posts, Reese directed her frustration towards Trump and American voters.
“I’m so disappointed in America…. Some of you just couldn’t selfishly put your pride aside huh??!?!? … As a woman, I’m heartbroken for us all…,” expressed Reese.
Given that Kai Trump, the daughter of Trump’s son, has even spoken at one of Trump’s political rallies in the past, Reese may not share the same mutual respect for Kai as the future NCAA golfer does for the Sky star.
While Clark didn’t publicly endorse either candidate in the US election, she did like an Instagram post from Taylor Swift encouraging Americans to get informed and vote.
Although Clark remained neutral, her boyfriend, Conor McCaffery, was more vocal about his political views. Leading up to the election, McCaffery shared a picture of Michelle Obama speaking on CNN on his Instagram story along with a heart emoji.
