How It Happened
The battle started early for the Bengals as they competed for ball control throughout the first half. The Saints were able to notch an early goal in the 15th minute and held any potential Bengals chances to a minimum.
Second half play would bear like the first half, as the Bengals battled through thick and thin to create chances against a tight Saints defense. Hope was created as Valentic scored in the 81st minute, tying the game at 1-1…but the Saints regained the lead in the 85th minute and would score the finisher in the 87th minute.
The Bengals were outshot by the Saints 29 to 7 for the game with four shots on goal.
For The Foes
Mia Cence, Grace Mochnal, and Madison King-Thurber all scored for the Saints.
Gracie McDonough made three saves in net in a full-game performance.
Up Next The Bengals will get a much-deserved rest period before they start up conference play at the Coyer Field next Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. against SUNY Potsdam.>
