JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida women’s soccer earned a hard-fought 3-3 draw at Jacksonville on Sunday afternoon at Southern Oak Stadium, moving to 6-8-3 overall and 4-3-1 in the ASUN Conference.

Senior midfielder Chloe Lynch put the Ospreys on the board first, scoring her first goal of the season off an assist from redshirt junior forward Isabella Pontieri in the 14th minute. It was Pontieri’s ninth assist of the year.

Jacksonville tied the game at 1-1 with a goal in the 20th minute.

In goal for North Florida, redshirt freshman Chrissa Avery made a diving save in the 42nd minute to keep the match tied at halftime.

The Dolphins scored back-to-back goals in the 66th and 67th minutes to take a 3-1 lead, but the Ospreys quickly responded with a pair of their own.

Pontieri scored her seventh goal of the season in the 73rd minute. Minutes later, redshirt junior forward/midfielder Paige McSwigan netted her first goal of the year with a header off a Lynch assist in the 86th minute, tying the score at 3-3. The assist was Lynch’s second of the season.

North Florida held a 13-6 edge in shots on goal, led by four from Pontieri and three from McSwigan.

In total, 18 Ospreys saw action, with Avery logging the full 90 minutes.

North Florida continues ASUN play Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Queens in Charlotte, N.C. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Queens Sports Complex.
