Prior to the match, redshirt junior forward Sophia Goetz, senior defender Brialyn Anderson, senior midfielder Chloe Lynch, redshirt junior defender Brenna Robinson and redshirt junior forward Reese Radecki were all recognized for Senior Day.
The Ospreys threatened offensively from the start with five shots in the initial 10 minutes of action. North Florida would enter the halftime break with a 12-1 shot advantage over its visitors, highlighted by five first-half shots from Pontieri.
North Florida continued to fire off shots and ended the afternoon with a 23-3 shot advantage. The Ospreys had seven players register multiple shots with Pontieri leading the way with seven total shots. For Pontieri, it marked her sixth match of the season with five or more shots.
Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Chrissa Avery registered her third clean sheet of the season with a pair of saves. Overall, 20 Ospreys logged action with Avery, Anderson, junior midfielder Zoe Looker and sophomore midfielder Sarah Frazer each logging the full 90 minutes.
North Florida will take on Jacksonville at Southern Oak Stadium for the second matchup of the River City Rumble on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m.
