Straub returns to the Sunshine State after spending her first two seasons at the University of South Alabama. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.
“Our staff is excited to add a student-athlete with K.J.’s collegiate experience to our program. She has made a significant impact at South Alabama, and we feel she will do the same here at UNF,” stated Faulconer. “She is a true competitor and plays with a lot of grit. She is the type of midfielder that will find a way to help us win games. She also has the ability to play anywhere along the backline. We are looking forward to her arrival on campus in January.”
Straub played 1,487 minutes over twenty-nine games with twelve starts during her two-year career for the Jaguars. This past season, she made eight starts and played 901 minutes in 16 games, helping South Alabama earn the number one overall seed in the Sun Belt tournament.
The Lakeland, Florida native played her club soccer with Orlando City ECNL and her high school soccer at Lakeland Christian. She led Lakeland Christian to three high school state championships and was named the 2024 Class 2A Florida Dairy Farmers Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
She also garnered multiple Lakeland Ledger Girls Soccer Player of the Year honors. During her club soccer career with Orlando City, Straub played in the ECNL Girls National Selection game.
