Lee, the fourth seed with a record of 7-4-6, earned the right to face top-seed West Florida (13-1-3) in the semifinals by defeating Valdosta State University 5-1. West Florida also advanced with a 2-1 victory over Spring Hill College.
The Lady Flames’ five goals against Valdosta set a season record, surpassing their previous high of three goals in a game. The other three-goal performances came against the University of West Alabama, Spring Hill, and Mississippi College.
No upsets occurred in the quarterfinals as Union defeated Delta State University and Montevallo won over Mississippi College. Lee will face West Florida at 4 p.m. (EST) followed by Montevallo and Union. The championship match is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. (EST).
