The 2025–26 Women’s Super League 2 fixtures were officially released on Friday and below, we take a look at some of the key fixtures for the new campaign.
Opening weekend fixtures for the 2025–26 Women’s Super League 2 season
The new Women’s Super League Two runs across the weekend of September 5th to 7th, with six fixtures taking place.
The action begins on Friday, September 5th, as Sheffield United host Sunderland at Bramall Lane with a 6pm kick-off time.
Sheffield United were relegated from the WSL2 last season, but had their place reinstated after Blackburn withdrew from the division.
On Saturday, September 6th, newly promoted Ipswich Town travel to the south coast to take on Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.
The remaining fixtures take place on Sunday, September 7th, all kicking off at 2pm.
Those fixtures include Nottingham Forest’s first game in the second tier against Newcastle United.
The WSL2 fixtures were released on the same day that the 2025-26 WSL fixtures were released for England’s top tier.

When Does the 2025–26 WSL2 season End?
The regular season is scheduled to conclude on the weekend of 1-3 May 2026.
Following recent changes to the league structure, the top two teams will be promoted automatically to the Women’s Super League. The third-placed team will enter a play-off against the bottom WSL side, with that match expected to take place later in May.
More details on the final weekend fixtures and play-off scheduling will be released later in the season.
