LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis is set to host the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday and travel to No. 25 South Carolina on Sunday. Friday’s match at the Boone Tennis Center will begin at 1 p.m. as does Sunday’s match in Columbia, South Carolina.

The No. 58 Wildcats are coming off a loss at Ole Miss and now have a 6-5 record on the season. They will lean on strong doubles play from fifth-year Lizzy Stevens and senior Ellie Eades, who were ranked as the No. 87 doubles pair by the ITA earlier this week.

In singles, UK is led by No. 66 Julia Zhu, a junior. Zhu has proved to be a consistent asset to the team and holds down the third court for Wildcats. No. 101 Zoe Hammond is the newest ranked singles player for Kentucky, playing on court one and having two ranked wins on the season so far.

Zhu, Hammond, and the rest of the Wildcats will take on the nation’s best team, Georgia, who won the 2025 ITA Indoor Championship in January and was the NCAA Runner-Up in the 2024 outdoor season. The Bulldogs have four ranked doubles pairs as well as No. 1 Dasha  Vidmanova, No. 41 Aysegul Mert, No. 48 Anastasiia Lopata, and No. 82 Guillermina Grant in singles.

The South Carolina Gamecocks have ranked doubles pair of their own in No. 36 Sarah Hamner and Kaitlyn Carnicella. In singles, they are led by No. 19 Hamner, No. 92 Carnicella, and No. 93 Misa Malkin.

This weekend will be the Wildcats third and fourth top 25 opponent in the last five matches. Fans are encouraged to come to Friday’s match at home where admission will be free for all attendees. Live stats of the Friday match is available on StatBroadcast and streaming is available here.
