LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky women’s tennis team will compete in their second opportunity to secure an NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship spot at the 2025 ITA Regional Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. on Oct. 16-21.
The two singles finalists from each region will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship. Meanwhile, the doubles champion from each region (13) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship. Selection criteria and acceptable draw size variations for each of the 2025 Men’s and Women’s Regional Championships will be released later this season.
The University of Kentucky is a part of the Ohio Valley Region, with teams in the area that include the hosting Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt, Purdue, and more.
All seven of the Wildcats will compete, including No. 20 Zoe Hammond and No. 57 Julia Zhu who both competed at the ITA All-American Championships a few weeks ago. Sophomore Marina Fuduric and freshman Elena Molla will play in the qualifying singles round, with Hammond, Zhu, Ellie Myers, Asuncion Jadue, and Reese Sager in the main draw. The doubles pairings are set to include the duo of Hammond and Sager, Fuduric and Jadue, and Myers and Molla.
The Wildcats look to compete for a NCAA Championship spot all weekend long. Qualifying play will begin on Thursday at 9 a.m. and the full draw for the weekend can be found here along with results.
