Yes, last week’s THQ Nordic Digital Showcase brought the news that Wreckfest 2 is in development and that it will completely overhaul its physics engine and offer a new split-screen mode when it releases for the PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
Wreckfest 2 does not yet have a confirmed release date, but the sequel looks like it’s going to amp everything up to eleven. There’s a new armor and damage system, and fans can look forward to even more chaotic pile-ups on the derby tracks, with its improved physics simulation engine that takes advantage of modern hardware.
Wreckfest 2 Release Date
THQ Nordic hasn’t commented on a release date for Wreckfest 2 yet, and one wasn’t mentioned during last week’s Digital Showcase. We expect it to be released for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S at some point in 2025.
The official website lists the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as platforms too, but we’re unsure if this is a mistake. We have reached out to THQ for comment and will update this article when we hear back from them. At the time of publishing, we didn’t have a response.
