For the first time in over 15 years, the WTA Top 10 includes two teenagers, as Victoria Mboko joins Mirra Andreeva following her spectacular run to the Qatar TotalEnergies Open final.

The last time the WTA Top 10 featured two teenagers was in 2009, when Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki achieved the feat. Now, on February 16, 2026, Russian 18-year-old Mirra Andreeva sits at No. 7 and Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko at No. 10.

This is Mboko’s first appearance inside the elite group, as she becomes the fourth Canadian to break into the Top 10, following Carling Bassett-Seguso, Eugenie Bouchard and, most recently, Bianca Andreescu.

The achievement comes after a series of successes for the young athlete, whose breakthrough came at last year’s Montreal WTA 1000, where she captured her maiden title. She closed the season with another trophy at the WTA 250 Prudential Hong Kong Open, and her momentum has carried into 2026. Just a month and a half into the new season, she has already reached the finals in both Adelaide and Doha.

As for Andreeva, the teenager had entered the Top 10 as a 17-year-old, following her title run at the 2025 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. In July 2025, she reached a career-high of No. 5.

Away from the teen power, Aryna Sabalenka remains firmly in control at the top of the WTA rankings despite skipping the Qatar TotalEnergies Open. With both Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina exiting in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 event, the world No. 1 saw her lead remain intact and now holds a 3,067-point advantage over Swiatek. Sabalenka has reached 70 consecutive weeks at No. 1 and 78 overall, placing her 11th on the all-time list for most weeks at the summit.

The battle for second place, however, is tightening. Rybakina now trails Swiatek by just 280 points and could overtake the Pole with a semifinal run at this week’s Dubai Tennis Championships.

There was movement elsewhere in the Top 10 picture, with last year’s Doha champion Amanda Anisimova suffering an early second-round exit and dropping two places. She is now the American No. 3, having been overtaken by both Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula. Ekaterina Alexandrova exited the Top 10 after slipping two spots.

Karolina Muchova, the 2023 French Open runner-up, claimed the biggest title of her career over the weekend in Doha, earning an eight-place jump to No. 11, just three spots shy of her career-high ranking.
