Aces have always been a key weapon in modern tennis, helping players win easy points and control their service games. The latest stats reveal the WTA players who are leading in aces per match in 2025, showcasing some familiar power hitters and a few surprises. Let’s take a deep dive into the biggest servers on tour and what their serving prowess means for their game.

Zheng Qinwen

Zheng Qinwen leads the pack

Topping the list is Zheng Qinwen, who averages 8.75 aces per match. The 22-year-old Chinese is known for her explosive serve, and this stat reaffirms her reputation as one of the most dangerous players on tour when it comes to free points off the serve. With a 100% most aces rate and a 56% first serve percentage, she is a major threat, especially on faster surfaces.

Clara Tauson close behind

Just behind is Clara Tauson, with 7.69 aces per match. The 22-year-old Danish star has established herself as a force in women’s tennis, utilizing a 69% most aces rate and a 57% first serve percentage to dominate service games. Her ability to consistently hit big serves is a huge asset, particularly on hard courts. This week in Dubai, she upset world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka to reach her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal.

Alycia Parks’ powerful serve

Alycia Parks takes the third spot, averaging 7.50 aces per match. The American player has steadily built her game around a strong serve, with a 93% most aces rate and a 62% first serve percentage. Her ability to fire aces is a big reason why she’s a dangerous opponent on tour.

Other notable names

Naomi Osaka (6.43 aces per match) – Having returned to the tour in 2024, Osaka remains one of the best servers in the game, combining power with precision.

Marketa Vondrousova (6.25 aces per match) – The former Wimbledon champion continues to impress with her powerful serve, hitting 88% most aces rate despite a 52% first serve percentage.

Madison Keys (6.00 aces per match) – A veteran on tour, Keys maintains her elite serving stats with a 67% first serve percentage.

Danielle Collins (5.50 aces per match) – One of the most aggressive players on tour, Collins uses her serve to dictate points early in rallies.

Coco Gauff (5.29 aces per match) – The young American continues to refine her serve, helping her hold her position among the tour’s top servers.

What these stats reveal

Aces aren’t just about raw power; they reflect a player’s ability to place the ball well, use variety, and generate consistent speed. The leaders in this category tend to be players with strong first serves who can hit their spots effectively.

First serve percentage matters: Some of the top ace leaders, like Alycia Parks and Zheng Qinwen, have lower first serve percentages, meaning they take more risks on their deliveries.

Double faults trade-off: Players with high ace counts, such as Coco Gauff (6.14 double faults per match) and Jelena Ostapenko (6.09 double faults per match), often struggle with consistency, showing the balance between aggression and control.

Young stars rising: The presence of young players like Parks, Zheng, and Tauson in the Top 3 suggests that the next generation of WTA stars is heavily focused on aggressive serving strategies.

Final thoughts

With the WTA becoming more competitive, a powerful and accurate serve is more important than ever. Players like Alycia Parks and Zheng Qinwen are proving that serving prowess can be a game-changer, while experienced players like Naomi Osaka and Madison Keys continue to show their serving strength. As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see if these trends hold or if new players rise to the top of the aces leaderboard.
