ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN – Team USA’s Yoseline Perez continues her remarkable international campaign, securing a spot in the gold medal match at the World Boxing Cup: Astana 2025 with a 3-0 decision win over Poland’s Wiktoria Rogalinska. The bout, held at Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace, was more than just a semifinal—it was a story of redemption.
Earlier this year, Perez fell short against Rogalinska in the gold medal match at the World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2025. That loss ignited a fire in the 21-year-old Houston, Texas native, who went on to win gold at the Grand Prix Usti Nad Labem, and now, she’s avenged her prior defeat and moved one step closer to gold on the biggest stage of her career.
Perez’s performance in Astana has been nothing short of dominant—winning two of her three bouts by unanimous decision. Now, she’ll face India’s Sakshi Sakshi in the championship bout on Sunday, July 6, aiming to secure her second gold medal of the year and first-ever World Boxing Cup title.

Also in action on Saturday was Morelle McCane (Cleveland, Ohio), who fought valiantly in her 65kg semifinal bout against Uzbekistan’s Navbakhor Khamidova. After a slow start, McCane mounted a strong comeback attempt but fell short in a 4-1 decision. The performance earned McCane a bronze medal—her third international medal of 2025, continuing a standout year for the Cleveland native.
