LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Zoe Hammond has been named to the All-SEC Second Team after a successful year on the court for the Wildcats, as announced by the conference office.
Hammond has had a standout season, leading the Wildcats from the first singles position. She holds a 16-10 overall record and a 9-7 mark in SEC play, competing with consistency and confidence against some of the nation’s top talent.
Her season is highlighted by three top 25 wins, including two over top 5 opponents in No. 3 DJ Bennett of Auburn and No. 5 Elza Tomase of Tennessee. This has earned her a career-high ITA singles ranking of No. 40. Zoe has also been a steady contributor in doubles and a strong leader for her team, both on and off the court. With six wins in her last nine matches, Zoe has built major momentum and proves herself to be not just a key member of the Wildcats, but as one of the top players in the SEC, making her a deserving winner for conference honors.
This is Hammond’s first All-SEC nod, going along with her women’s tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor earlier this month. Zoe and the rest of the Kentucky women’s tennis team hope to hear their name during the 2025 NCAA Selection Show on Monday, April 28.
