Don’t underestimate the importance of easy days for your development.
Last weekend, most of the 560,000 high school boys and girls competing in high school cross country in 2024 raced.
Wednesday should be about taking it easy and allowing your body to recover.
Remember, recovery runs are crucial for your body to benefit from tough training days.
Cross country is a vital part of becoming a successful distance runner!

Be sure to warm up properly,
Run moderately for 45-65 minutes, do 6 x 150 meter stride-outs, then cool down properly.
Check your shoes and make sure your training shoes are prepared for 10-14 more weeks of training (most shoes last 12-16 weeks).
If needed, visit a local running store to find good training shoes.
We’ll discuss this further soon!
