Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson lead WNBA Season Awards Picks
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

This past WNBA season was truly monumental. The league garnered unprecedented attention, but the on-court performance also played a crucial role.

Choosing award winners was a challenging task, especially with two standout players delivering historic seasons simultaneously.

Here’s how I would vote for MVP, Rookie of the Year, and other WNBA awards.

A'ja Wilson of Aces

Selecting the MVP was a tough decision. A’ja Wilson had an incredibly dominant season with the Las Vegas Aces, setting numerous records and leading in multiple statistical categories. However, Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier also had remarkable seasons, making the MVP selection quite challenging. Ultimately, my vote goes to Wilson for her outstanding performance.

Caitlin Clark of Indiana Fever

The Rookie of the Year choice was clear cut. Caitlin Clark’s record-breaking season and impact on the Indiana Fever’s performance made her the deserving winner, despite strong competition.

Napheesa Collier of Minnesota Lynx defending

Reinhold Matay-Imagn Images

Napheesa Collier’s versatility and defensive skills earned her the Defensive Player of the Year award, showcasing her impact on the Minnesota Lynx’s performance.

Cheryl Reeve of Minnesota Lynx

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

Cheryl Reeve’s coaching prowess and the Minnesota Lynx’s performance solidified her as the Coach of the Year, leading her team to championship contention.

Dijonai Carrington of Connecticut Sun

Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images

DiJonai Carrington’s remarkable improvement and contributions to the Connecticut Sun earned her the Most Improved Player award.

Leonie Fiebich of New York Liberty

Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images

Leonie Fiebich’s impactful contributions to the New York Liberty’s success earned her recognition as a standout rookie in the league.

My selections for the All-WNBA teams included standout players like Wilson, Clark, Collier, Stewart, and Ionescu.

Overall, making these choices in such a historic WNBA season was a challenging but rewarding experience.
