CARROLLTON, Ga. – North Florida women’s soccer (5-3-3, 2-1-0 ASUN) earned its second-consecutive Atlantic Sun victory, overcoming West Georgia (1-8-0, 0-3-0 ASUN), 3-2 in a rain-riddled five-goal thriller on Thursday afternoon.
All five goals were scored in the first half, with Allie Fekany opening her account in the 14th minute before West Georgia equalized just 48 seconds later. Paige McSwigan slotted a free kick in the 33rd minute to regain the lead for the Ospreys, but once again the Wolves would find an equalizer in the 43rd minute. Right before halftime, McSwigan scored what would be the game-winning goal to secure her brace. The brace marked the second-straight game an Osprey has posted a brace.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at 7 p.m., but was moved up due to the threat of Hurricane Helene.

First Half: Allie Fekany opened the scoring in the 14th minute, slotting in a cross from Kayla Bond to give the Ospreys the lead … West Georgia equalized just 48 seconds later off of a header from a corner kick … the Ospreys pushed to regain the lead, outshooting the Wolves 5-1 through 20 minutes … on a free kick in the 33rd minute, Paige McSwigan found the bottom left corner, slotting home her second set piece goal of the season to make it 2-1 … West Georgia would find another equalizing goal in the 43rd minute to even things up just before the break … with less than a minute before the half, McSwigan grabbed her second goal of the contest to regain the lead for the Ospreys.
Second Half: UNF kept pushing for more goals out of the break … Jersi Dadah had the ball in the back of the net in the 57th minute, but it was flagged for offsides … in the 83rd minute Taylor Tamares saw a shot from distance saved … despite eight shots from both sides, the second half remained scoreless, with the Ospreys earning its second consecutive Atlantic Sun victory.
It was the first-ever meeting between North Florida and West Georgia
Thursday’s victory marked the program’s 260th overall win and the 100th victory against an Atlantic Sun opponent
Fekany bagged her first goal of the season and the sixth of her collegiate career
Bond recorded her second assist of the campaign, a team-high
Following McSwigan’s brace, she now leads the team in goals and points, with four and eight, respectively
