Heading into the upcoming college basketball season, LSU basketball star, NIL powerhouse, and hip-hop force Flau’jae Johnson has solidified her position as one of the most exceptional and prolific athletes both on and off the court. Despite playing for Nike-sponsored LSU, her partnership with PUMA has caught the attention of many, leading to a collaboration with pro basketball icons in the brand’s latest global marketing campaign.
PUMA’s newest chapter of their “FOREVER. FASTER. – See The Game Like We Do” marketing campaign focuses on basketball and features Johnson alongside recent signees like Tyrese Haliburton, Breanna Stewart, LaMelo Ball, and Scoot Henderson.
The campaign includes 30-second and 15-second commercials airing on TV, aiming to provide a unique perspective on the game, inviting viewers to see basketball through the lens of PUMA.
Johnson shared the commercial on Instagram in collaboration with PUMA and other featured athletes.
“Our goal has always been to showcase basketball from the player’s perspective, on and off the court. This approach allows us to connect unique viewpoints with innovative products and storytelling relevant to everyone in the game,” said Max Staiger, Global Head of PUMA Basketball. “This campaign brings together the stories of Stewie, Melo, Flau’Jae, Scoot, and Tyrese, epitomizing PUMA Hoops’ disruptive and inclusive spirit like never before.”
Johnson, leading No. 6-ranked LSU following the departures of Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith, boasts one of the most diverse NIL brand portfolios. Apart from traditional partnerships, she’s involved in athlete investment, having partnered with Bazooka as one of the few college players investing in the brand.
Innovation continues as Johnson recently purchased 20 acres of land in Atlanta, aiming to create opportunities for others in the future.
“This land represents more than just an investment for me,” she expressed to Boardroom. “It’s about building something beyond basketball or music, creating opportunities for my community, and leaving a legacy that inspires young women, especially young Black women, to aim high and break boundaries.”
Johnson joins PUMA’s pro basketball roster in “FOREVER. FASTER – See The Game Like We Do,” launching globally this weekend with out-of-home campaigns in New York, Los Angeles, Charlotte, and Miami, along with a strong presence on social media and TV.
