SYRACUSE, NY – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2024 women’s soccer all-conference team today, recognizing three Buffalo State team members. Leading the way was Olivia Kilmer (Hammondsport, NY/Avoca) who was also tabbed as the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year.
Kilmer had an impressive freshman campaign for the Bengals earning her Second Team All-SUNYAC honors and just the second Bengal to earn Rookie of the Year in program history (Taylor Carillo in 2016). Across 18 games played, Kilmer totaled 23 points on 11 goals and an assist. Her goal and point total led the team and was the fourth best in the conference.
Also earning Second Team All-SUNYAC honors was Kaylee Valentic (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda). Valentic was a staple for the Bengals as one of two team members to start every game. She totaled 17 points on seven goals and three assists on her way to her first all-conference selection.
Rounding out the field with Third Team All-SUNYAC honors was Ryan Berman (River Edge, NJ/River Dell). The junior defender picked up a pair of assists on the year and was a crucial piece of the Buffalo State defense that tallied five shutouts through the season.
The Bengals finished the season with a record of 8-10 (5-4 SUNYAC) on the year en route to their first postseason berth since 2016.
