BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo State’s Eve DiCarlo (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island), Hannah Esslie (Cairo, NY/Cairo-Durham), Ryan Berman (River Edge, NJ/River Dell), Lindsay DePietro (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), and Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) of the women’s soccer team have been named to the 2024 Women’s Soccer Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.
In order to qualify for this award, student-athletes must excel both on the field and in the classroom, maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 through at least two full semesters at their institution, while also playing in 90% or starting 66% of their team’s games during the season.
DiCarlo receives Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive year with a 3.93 GPA as an art education major. DiCarlo started in 18 games this season, earning six points with two goals and two assists.
Esslie, a biology major, also earns the recognition for the second year in a row with a 3.96 GPA. Esslie started in all 18 games and contributed three assists to the team.
Berman, a junior defender and early childhood education major, is a repeat selection with a 3.90 GPA. Berman earned two assists, was selected to the Third Team All-SUNYAC, and started in multiple games for the Bengals.
DePietro and Williams are the newest members of the Academic All-District Team for the women’s soccer program. DePietro, a psychology major, achieved a 3.80 GPA and scored five points with two goals and one assist. Williams, a speech pathology major, posted a 3.73 GPA and served as the starting goaltender for the Bengals in 15 games, making 84 saves and achieving two shutouts with a .750 save percentage.
