2024 United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – North Florida women’s soccer’s Zara Siassi and Paige McSwigan were both named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-South Region First- and Third-Teams, as released by the national organization on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
“Being named to the United Soccer Coaches All Region team is a tremendous honor for both Zara and Paige.” said head coach Eric Faulconer. “This is the second selection for both of them, which makes it even more special. I couldn’t be more proud of how they have and continue to represent our program, athletic department and university.”
Siassi and McSwigan are now two-time honorees by the United Soccer Coaches organizations. UNF has received at least one honoree on the all-region squad in eight consecutive seasons.Â
Last year, McSwigan was named to the All-South Region Third-Team following a breakout first season for the Ospreys. Siassi earned First-Team honors for the first-time in her career after being named to the Second-Team back in 2021.Â
The duo had arguably the best season of their careers in 2024, with Siassi breaking program records for career games started and played with 82 to her name. McSwigan scored a career- and team-high seven goals for the Ospreys this past season, notching one assist and leading the team with 15 points.Â
Siassi bagged a trio of assists in her final season at UNF, while scoring a penalty against Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 20. She led the team in minutes played for the second consecutive year, playing the full 90 in every match but three, while tallying six clean sheets.Â
Following a strong final season, Siassi was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first Osprey in program history to receive the award. She also garnered All-ASUN First-Team honors as well as an Academic All-ASUN selection for the second-time in her career. McSwigan was named to the All-ASUN Second-Team and, similar to Siassi, also received Academic All-ASUN honors.Â
The pair were also named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for their performances on the pitch and in the classroom.
