It’s the time of year when fans of teams across the league are filled with the hope that their favorite team could add the difference makers needed to transform the team into Super Bowl contenders in the upcoming season.
For the Seattle Seahawks there are no shortage of cap decisions to address, from the possibility of extensions for Geno Smith and DK Metcalf, to the potential for fan favorite Tyler Lockett to become a cap casualty. In between there will be plenty of other choices the Hawks must make as they look to become cap compliant ahead of the start of the new NFL league year at 4pm New York time on Wednesday, March 12.
Of course, the Seahawks are far from the only team that will make moves over the course of the next week, and reports of some of the transactions are already hitting social media. So, without wasting any further time with small talk, here are the moves that have been reported or announced.
The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the release of G Alex Cappa, which will save them $8M of cap space.
The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly releasing CB Darius Slay with a post-June 1 designation, which will save $4.3M of cap space.
