Lake Nona, FL – It will be an Iron Bowl showdown in the finals of the 2025 ITA National Wheelchair Tennis Championships as Alabama and Auburn have both earned their way into the championship match from the courts of the USTA National Campus.
Beginning in what was a rematch of a decisive pool play match, Michigan and Auburn once again faced off on Saturday after playing Friday morning where Michigan came away with a 2-1 win. However, not letting the previous day deter them, the Tigers came out swinging in the semifinals winning the doubles point in dominant fashion before earning the clinch from No. 2 singles.
In the days other semifinal, Alabama took down Arizona 2-0 to earn their place in the finals once again. The Crimson Tide had another strong showing in doubles to put them ahead early and then relied on a dominant performance from Francesco Felici to clinch the match from the No. 1 position.
As in state rivals, these two teams come into the match very familiar with one another. The Tigers will be looking for their first ITA National Wheelchair Tennis Championship while the Tide will be looking to add to their already impressive trophy case.
Play will begin at 9 am (EST) on Sunday with the finals starting with doubles play before being followed by two courts of singles to determine a champion. The first team to win two out of the three matches will take home the national championship.
