Caitlin Clark was limited to just 13 games in her sophomore season for the Indiana Fever due to multiple injuries. Players such as Lexie Hull had to step up amid Clark’s extended absence in what turned out to be a memorable campaign for the Fever.

Clark was far from the only player whom the Fever lost throughout the season. In fact, Indiana suffered no less than five season-ending injuries before the playoffs. This included veteran guard Sydney Colson, who was ruled out for the rest of the campaign after tearing her left ACL in August.

Colson, who averaged 2.4 points and 2.0 assists in 30 games played for the Fever in 2025, took to social media on Tuesday night to reflect on the past year. The 5-foot-8 guard shared a heartfelt farewell message for the season.

“What a season! Genuinely enjoyed this team and what we did on the court & in the showers! I knew in the offseason that God was placing me where I needed to be to grow & learn some necessary lessons & that’s exactly what happened.

“And at the end of the day, I earned one more championship and one more ACL so life is good😌🏆🦵🏾,” Colson posted on Instagram.

Clark was one of the first to comment on Colson’s post, with her other Fever teammates also following suit.

“Syd 😭😭🤣🤣 thankful for ya,” Clark wrote.

“Love you Syd! ❤️ Showering just won’t be the same this offseason,” said Lexie Hull

“Love you so much babes😍😍,” Aliyah Boston commented.

“Love you syd❤️,” reacted Makayla Timpson.

“❤️❤️❤️❤️,” posted Natasha Howard.

“Syd🥹🫶🏾,” Aari McDonald wrote.

Colson, a two-time WNBA champion, signed a one-year, $90,000 deal with the Fever before the 2025 season. She is now set to become an unrestricted free agent, which means there is no guarantee she will return to Indiana in 2026.

Colson has clearly left her mark with her Fever teammates, and there’s no denying that they would be happy to welcome her back if she gets a new deal. At the same time, however, it would not be a complete shock if she ends up elsewhere next season.
